Award winning travel and outdoor writer, photographer and broadcaster contributing to a variety of publications in the UK and abroad. Radio work includes writing and producing a three-part series The Roaring Game and a half-hour documentary on the 'Pinkerton Detective Agency' for BBC Radio Scotland, as well as several specialist music/travel-related series for BBC Radio 2.
Words and pictures have appeared in a variety of magazines and newspapers in the UK and abroad including: The Sunday Herald, Herald, The Lady, Real Holidays, Scots Magazine, Triangle, Interval World, Daily Record, Choice and Woman’s Realm.
Hugh Taylor is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, Society of Antiquaries, Scotland, a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, Writers and Photographers Unlimited, National Union of Journalists and The Society of Authors.
In 2000 he received the Jordanian Tourism Ministers Award for services to Jordanian Tourism.

Works with partner Moira McCrossan on a range of projects including researching, writing and updating guidebooks, production of AV packages and the supply of stock photography. Also available as a lecturer for media courses at college level and as a speaker at conferences and dinners.

Undertakes contracts and commissions worldwide for the production of guidebooks, articles photographs radio programes and audio visual packages.
Organises travel writing courses and workshops and conducts individual training.
