Short biog
Terry has travelled widely, including periods living and working in Spain, France and Australia. He was brought up on angling and family camping holidays, before discovering mountain walking in the mid-1980s when, working as an English teacher in Barcelona, he made regular trips to the Pyrenees. He grew up in Oxford and graduated from Leeds University, but has lived in York since 1988, running his own communications consultancy business since 1993. His first book, ‘The Hillwalker’s Guide to Mountaineering’, was published by Cicerone in 2003, and he is currently working on an overseas follow up.

Terry divides his working time between his activity as a freelance writer and photographer, and running his own independent public relations and marketing communications business, Terry Adby & Associates Ltd
