Brought up to be a Cotswold farmer, a career of fresh air and exercise, cattle and corn, pursued until almost forty. At which point made the transition to full-time outdoor writer and linescape artist. In my early twenties caught the bug of producing hand-drawn walking guides from mentor Alfred Wainwright and a dozen years later moved to the best of all walking counties, Cumbria, to fulfil a long-held ambition to explore the Lakeland Fells from tip to toe.
This year began with the preparation of a free StagePath guide for Stagecoach Bus Co to the 555 service Windermere to Keswick. Since early March have been engrossed in book five of Lakeland Fellranger, exploring The Western Fells with a fine tooth comb.
