Brought up in the country I have always had an affinity with the countryside and our landscape. My father is a keen photographer and some of it must have brushed off on me as I really cannot imagine being without my camera! Having spent some years traveling overseas with my camera I am now based in the UK and really enjoying exploring our diverse landscapes, although I do still travel whenever possible as there is nothing better than discovering a 'new' place.
I have held a number of solo exhibitions, the last of which took place at Westonbirt Arboretum in Autumn 2009, to tie in with the publication of my book. Prior to that 'In My View' showcased at the O3 gallery in Oxford for one month last summer.
My first book: 'A year in the life of Westonbirt' was published by Frances Lincoln in September 2009.
In 2009 I set up Image Seen which offers one to one and group photography workshops and digital imaging tuition.
I believe in getting things right 'in camera, as for me the best part of landscape photography is being out there - doing it. In the creation of my images I endeavor to evoke emotion within the viewer and to enable them to step inside my image. If I can enable someone to be transported if only for a moment, then I feel that I have succeeded.
