| Peter Guy read history at Hull University and qualified as a teacher before serving 20 years in the RAF and 15 years for BP. Both organisations saw him working on Shetland for many years. He has written a series of seven books which are currently in print under the heading Walking the Coastline of Shetland. He shares his time between his small North Yorkshire farm which provides bed-and-breakfast and holiday cottage accommodation, particularly, for bird watchers and walkers drawn to Swaledale and Teesdale. Peter has guided walks in both Shetland and the northern Dales and is particularly interested in RSPB and Prehistoric Society activities.
