Short biog
Geoffrey King was born in the Peak District and has spent a lifetime walking, climbing and skiing. He is an ex-member of the Valkyrie and Yeti Mountaineering Clubs, and a founder member of the Innominate M Club. He has spent several years in the Peak, Lakes, Highlands and Switzerland. He has a particular interest in the Weald AONB, and is a pioneer and founder of the Wealdway Long Distance Path. An active RA member, he has led European walking holidays, compiled leadership/navigation courses, and is involved in countryside conservation in the UK and previously in Mallorca.

Business interests
Qualified litho artist. (Member of Society of Litho Artists & Designers); Qualified in map draughting & reproduction (Royal Engineers School of Surveying). Director of Design, Trebor Sharps, (Member Institute of Packaging). Own design consultancy from 1970 onwards. Involved in the creation of the Federation of Self Employed, (Now the Federation of Small Businesses). 1st.Chairman of Tunbridge Wells Branch, Kent.

Professional activities
Now semi-retired, concentrating on own publications; landscape painting repros and limited editions; environmental defence initiatives. Picture library of large format transparencies, Weald area.

Awards:
most prestigious: City of London Guildlhall Award for artwork of Tower of London and the Liberties; Master Printers' 1st Photography for offset litho repro 'The Water Lily'.

Main areas of interest
alpine skiing and walking; the Weald; the West Country & most UK mountain areas. Now involved in Rights of Way matters for the Ramblers Association.
