| Geoffrey King was born in the Peak District and has spent a lifetime walking, climbing and skiing. He is an ex-member of the Valkyrie and Yeti Mountaineering Clubs, and a founder member of the Innominate M Club. He has spent several years in the Peak, Lakes, Highlands and Switzerland. He has a particular interest in the Weald AONB, and is a pioneer and founder of the Wealdway Long Distance Path. An active RA member, he has led European walking holidays, compiled leadership/navigation courses, and is involved in countryside conservation in the UK and previously in Mallorca.

Involved in the creation of the Federation of Self Employed, (Now the Federation of Small Businesses). 1st.Chairman of Tunbridge Wells Branch, Kent.
