| David was born in 1961 and grew up in Kirkintilloch. He began tramping hills in the nearby Campsie Fells and is now an experienced hillwalker who also enjoys bumbling around on his very old bike, pottering about historic sites and writing about all three.

| Lecturer in the Centre for Academic and Professional Development at the University of Paisley.

| Writing articles, sometimes illustrated with his own photographs on a variety of subjects. He also speaks and lectures about a number of topics, including writing and literature, as well as subjects of historical interest. Main focus of writing is the short story.
|
| David is most keen about his fiction and he has won or been placed in several short story competitions over the years. He's also been placed in the Mountaineering Council of Scotland Article Competition.
