Former bass player in a rock band, re-discovered walking in his mid-twenties. Speciality reviews of clothing and equipment for walking, backpacking and adventure travel. Equipment editor / consultant to four major walking titles and regular columnist for many more, including the Daily Telegraph. Currently lightweight backpacking and travel equipment reviewer for Camping magazine.
Contributes travel and outdoors features to national newspapers and magazines, and photographs to www.alamy.com picture library.
Also member British Guild of Travel Writers and Mensa - and still plays a mean bass!
