| Outdoor activist, writer and photographer specialising in cycling, mountain biking, skiing, walking,hore-riding,kayaking, travel, and translation from Italian. Author of 'Italian Rock: Selected Climbs in Northern Italy' (still the only selected guidebook to the major non-Alpine Italian climbing areas in any language, including Italian), and translator of 'Classic Climbs in the Dolomites' (both Cicerone). Has lived in Italy and British Columbia,spent six months in 1997-8 in New Zealand and Australia cycle touring, climbing and sea kayaking, and the last eight winter seasons off-piste skiing and ski-touring in French, Italian and Swiss Alps. A trip to Arizona added horse-riding to the list of interests,following this with a six day ride across Wales in October 2005. In September 2006 entered first triathlon (Brighton)and less than a year on, gained Silver in the World Age-Group Triathlon Championships (Sprint Distance) Hamburg.
