| 'The Man with the World's Best Job' is how I describe myself in lectures - and it's true. Specialist writer/photographer and lecturer on mountain and countryside matters, withe particular interest in mountain exploration, walking, trekking and wild country travel. I also act as a walks leader and trekking guide, and have written more than 40 books, including a series of guides to trekking in Nepal, walking in the Alps, Pyrenees and southern England. A frequent contributor to outdoor magazines, occasional broadcaster on BBC World Service and local radio, and first honorary member of the British Association of European Mountain Leaders (BAEML).
