Paddy

Short biog
Paddy Dillon is a keen and dedicated walker with a great knowledge of walking opportunities throughout the British Isles, as well as around Europe and further afield.

Paddy is author and illustrator of over 40 guidebooks, half of them published by Cicerone Press, covering all parts of the British Isles and selected parts of Europe. He has contributed words and pictures to more than 20 other guidebooks, and has written and illustrated more than a dozen tourism brochures and booklets.

Paddy is an indefatigable long-distance walker, keen hillwalker, dedicated island-hopper and travels world-wide. He has delivered lectures and has appeared on radio and TV.

During 2007 Paddy completely overhauled his County Durham guidebook to prepare a new full-colour edition. He also walked over 1000 miles in 10 weeks, trekking both ways along the celebrated GR5 (Grand Traverse of the Alps) between Geneva and Nice, to prepare a new full-colour guidebook to the route.

During 2008, Paddy will be working on guidebooks covering the Reivers Way in Northumberland, the GR221 through the mountains of Mallorca, a complete update of his guidebook to Madeira, and a complete update of his guidebook to the North Pennines.
