| Born 1949. Director of Britain's Ramblers' Association, 1974-1998, and also a board member of Ramblers Holidays for most of that period. Now based in the eastern Pyrenees of France. Principal interests are writing, translating and teaching English. Currently a vice-president of the Council for National Parks and of the Ramblers' Association.
