THE WRITER
John Gillham's first book,
Snowdonia to The Gower,
was released on Diadem Books in 1989. He has since written and illustrated ten other
books, including
Pennine Ways
(Crowood) and
Lakeland to Lindisfarne
(Crowood). (Click image to enlarge)He is one of the regular Trail magazine writers and often appears in TGO (The Great Outdoors), Peak and Pennine, and Dalesman magazines. Gillham knows Wales from coast to coast, the Peak and Pennines, Northumberland, and the Lake District. Abroad, he has covered the United States (Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Nevada); Austria (Tyrol); Switzerland (Berner Oberland and Valais), Italy (Val Gardena and Lake Garda), and France (Chamonix). THE ILLUSTRATOR
Maps can be supplied as hand drawn sketches, or more formal computer EPS files using
the Macromedia Freehand program. The computer diagrams are ready to drop into DTP
layouts. Some of Gillham's 3D drawings are hand drawn, then scanned into the computer,
